Hegartys’ Auction on the 14th of August offers over 250 lots of antiques & fine art fresh to the market, and comprising the contents of three country house estates removed to the Auction Rooms for convenience of sale. Included in the residences whose contents will make up the Auction is Sunville House, the Square, Bantry, an 18thcentury period home, previously the residence of the steward for the Early of Bantry, and more recently the Harbour Master’s residence, also part II of the collection of Annedale House in Leitrim.
A large selection of antiques & collectables will highlight, a Regency Irish foldover brass inlaid card table, a Victorian dining room table with two extra leaves (there are 2 dining room tables in this sale, a pair of Irish library bookcases (from Annedale House), a Victorian walnut three-tier whatnot, an Irish Georgian side board, a large selection of Victorian occasional furniture, Regency rosewood Ladies’ side table, a French veni-Martin display cabinet, a pair of porcelain terracotta Foo Dogs previously owned by U2 band member Adam Clayton, Victorian library chairs, Georgian foldover tea table, extensive collection of porcelain, silver, collectables, Irish & continental art, pair of Marley horses, Venetian mirror etc. We will also offer for sale a large selection of Edwardian inlaid drawing room furniture to include Sutherland, and Pembroke drop-leaf nests of tables, jardinière stands, display cabinets, tea tables, card tables, sideboards, Victorian wardrobes, chests of drawers etc.
The Auction will take place on Tuesday 14th August at 7pm at the Auction Rooms, the Bypass Bandon, Co. Cork.
Viewing is highly recommended and takes place on Saturday 11th 12 noon–5pm, Sunday 2pm–5pm, Monday 12-5pm & Tuesday 12-7pm, when auction starts. Catalogue will be online on Friday at www.hegartyantiques.com.
