A look back at 2016..

December’s Auction on Sunday the 11th brought our auction year to a conclusion. The bidding on the night was strong, with a good crowd in the room and our phone bidders were busy throughout the sale.

2016 was a very busy year for us in Hegarty’s Auction Rooms in Bandon, we had 9 auctions over the 12 months, with a a great selection of art, interiors and collectables – 300 plus lots in each sale.

A LARGE IRISH SATINWOOD AND MARQUETRY INLAID, DEMI LUNE, SIDE TABLE, by William Moore of Dublin, the semi elliptical top whose border is decorated with oval floral panels, and a large demi-medallion floral centre panel, with inlaid satinwood, sycamore and tulipwood, raised on tapering legs with an inlaid fluted freize, 64”x32”x25” approxWilliam Moore learned his trade in London working under the renowned firm of Mayhew and Ince, Moore set up in Dublin 1785 - 1815 where he had workshops in Abbey Street and then Chapel Street, among some of his notable clients was the third Duke of Portland, Viceroy of Ireland in 1782 - Price Realised €18600.
